ℹ An admirable strain developed for its huge, 3 inch flowers with long graceful spurs in a very wide colour range. Blooming from late spring to early summer beautiful combinations of white, pink, blue, yellow, pink, pale blue, purple and scarlet, with crisp coloured outer petals, and cream/white coloured inner petals. Gray-green clover like foliage that turns a maroon colour in fall. Columbines are easy to grow and thrive in moist, well-drained soils. Full sun is okay in northern gardens; afternoon shade is preferred in southern gardens. Excellent for cut flowers.
Planting Instructions:
Plant the columbine seeds in moist soil in a warm, sunny indoor location. It will take the seeds about 30 days to germinate. The seedlings need 16 hours of light, so a grow light is recommended. Once the seedlings develop a pair of true leaves and have reached 3 to 4 inches tall, pot them up into larger containers. Harden off the plants for two weeks before transplanting them in the garden.
